BKK, Here we go!
After months of contemplation, my dearest babygirls and I finally got down to booking the tickets for our very first getaway @ Thailand, Bangkok two months ago. Whoop! Actually, we've been talking about it since forever... Since the end of 'O' levels when we're 16, followed by the end of my 'A' levels then we've got to wait for the poly peeps (Mel & Beth) to finish up their last semester and yes, F-I-N-A-L-L-Y!
It was my very first time traveling without my parents and everyone, including myself thought I was gonna be really homesick during that 5D4N but we're so wrong! We're having so much fun together, squeezing on a queen-sized bed, taking turns to wake each other up in the morning, spent the whole morning squabbling about "Ai, I really feel like pushing you off the bed last night. I had no space t sleep you know?!" or "Woah, you just spasm like free last night lor! Just kick only." or "Whalao, you just put your legs on top of mine the whole night. Shiok hor?" Come to think of it, it's really quite hilarious! Oh, how I love my babygirls... :)
Excited & tired us all ready to scoot off to BKK!
Checked-in @ Citin Pratunam which was hidden all the way at the end of an alley. It's still pretty convenient but definitely not advisable if you're staying alone/pair and not a group. The interior of the room isn't very impressive but it's really pretty cosy and pocket-friendly! Only about 50sgd/night ;)
The first thing you have to find @ Platinum Mall is not their wholesale clothings but Penn Crepe, located at the basement. They serve both cold and hot crepes and they are super yummy! Both Beth & I had it almost every single day without fail... She even had a cold crepe on her left-hand and hot crepe on her right-hand, how exaggerating but yes, it's that yummilicious! ;)
We had an early night on the first day to energize ourselves well for the next day!
Our daily dose of coffee/tea at our favourite street-stall every morning!
Morning faces squeezing in our hotel's tuk-tuk to drop us somewhere nearer to the BTS!
Please don't ask me why were we so excited to take the BTS, lol. I guess it was just a tourist-thing to do!
Off we go to Mo Chit Station for our Chatuchak weekend market!
There are a few things you need to eat @ Chatuchak:
1. Fried Quail eggs.
It's really yummy & I heard it's frigging over-priced in Singapore!
2. BBQ meatballs
When you bite 'em, you'll wonder if they could actually bounce on the floor... Yes, it's that QQ!
3. Thai Iced-tea
Perfect drink to quench your thirst under the crazy scorching hot sun!
4. Coconut/Thai Iced Tea Ice-cream
If a drink is still not enough, I'm sure this will definitely help to bring the heat down.
Last but not least, 5. Choconana.
This frozen banana is definitely a healthier choice as compared to ice-cream but surely just as yummy! I loved it so much that I couldn't stop chanting "Choconana" while bouncing on the bed the next morning to wake my babygirls up, hahaha ooops!
My favourite buy in Chatuchak has gotta be this! Such pretty arm-candy <3
I suppose this is BFF's favourite loot in Chatuchak cos it was from me, teeheehee! So pretty, isn't it? :)
Did I mention my dearest Beth is a half-thai? (Yeap, that explains her pretty features.) We met up with her relatives for steamboat dinner @ MK Restaurant. The restaurant has a theme song and the whole crew will start singing and dancing along at a certain timing, it's really super cute! Cos I dare to say that Singaporeans will never do that, hurhur.
For the next few evenings, we had takeaways from the street stalls so that we can enjoy our feast, feeding one another while watching tv in our room! Such dinner times were simple yet so lovely :)
The early-birds every single day and guess what?
Krispy Kreme for breakfast in bed! <3
Visited the Big C (something like Singapore's Giant) on our very last evening to do a last-minute Thai goodies (coconut candy, pork floss with egg roll etc.) shopping for our family, relatives & friends!
Take a look at our cart! There's even milk, gosh?! I think BFF almost wanted to buy the whole Big C back to Singapore, lol. I must say, their milk is really very nice thou... And not to forget, my daily dose of huge & cheap Meiji yakult too!
Apart from grocery shopping, our last night in BKK was a really long and eventful one...
We prayed at the famous Four Face Buddha Temple...
Before we had a good time chilling at Retro, a bar beside Ratchthewi BTS station...
And squeezing our loots into our luggage and guess what? We ended our night at only 5 in the morning!
Yummy Phad Thai to start our over-slept morning!
Crazy things you do when you're a tourist... Can you imagine if we posed like this outside ION? Faints, lol.
Dropped by Siam Paragon before we ended our BKK trip, the main reason for our visit was to takeaway boxes of Krispy Kreme back to +65! But here's a few snacks that's a must-try at the mall:
They make ice-cream with liquid nitrogen on the spot for you, friggin' cool! We chose Vanilla Madagascar and it tasted pretty much like the chinese Big Rabbit sweet, if you know what I'm talking about... Pretty unique taste for an ice-cream!
I've no idea what's this called! But look at the generous amount of coconut marshmallowy cream... Ahhhh!
Can I have some now, please?
It's pretty silly to intro cupcakes from Thailand but the red velvet cupcakes from this store is really good... Very fresh and moist. Cupcake lovers, you should give it a try! The price is the same as SG's one thou.
After a good 5D4N, we had to end our trip with an exciting amazing race! All thanks to the crazy jam in Thailand, no joke. In Singapore, when you're late, you hitch a cab but no, not for Thailand. We're so worried that we won't be able to catch our flight back home. We had to resort to finding two tuk-tuks to transport us together with our crazy amount of luggage to the nearest airport link station so that we can take a train to the airport, phew! Such times really made me appreciate our lovely transport system in Singapore!
On a side note, I kinda love the fact that we're traveling on our own, without our parents... I realized, it's only times like this, we learn a whole lot more cos we're forced to be independent. Definitely the best trip I've ever had and I can't wait for our next getaway trip together already! :) Till then, xx.
I'm no angel, I'm just me
But I will love you endlessly.
