Just another lovely Wednes(date)
Since I'm having some free time right now, I shall have a short and sweet post about my lovely Wednes(date) I had with my dearest Will. This boy has been the sweetest son, brother & boyfriend ever since he ORD-ed one week ago. Sending his brother to school every day even though he no longer have to wake up at 7 in the morning, picking me up from school and then, we will have lunch together with his momma. Did I mention I'm really attracted to filial son/family man? ;)
So yesterday, we headed down to PasarBella which was newly opened by his friend 3-4 months ago, gotta love this farmers' market! We had Maru Hotpot with Sukiyaki too and oh my, they're soooo good & yummehhh! Most importantly, it was such a value-for-money meal cos they serve fresh free-flow ingredients and also, not forgetting about their awesome service crew! (Fyi, it costs less than $80 for three of us.) Definitely heading back there again soon! Bought some doughnuts & eclairs for high-tea at home with his momma after lunch and off we go!
PasarBella @ The Granstand
200 Turf Club Rd, (S)287994
Finished up my accounting homework while Will was taking his afternoon nap, definitely a productive happy evening for me! And as soon as I was (almost) done with homework, I was rewarded with our favourite home-cooked Peranakan Kampung-style curry chicken for dinner at home. (: Yay, lucky taste-buds all day!
Then, guess what? After all that feasting, I came home to my all-time favourite Snow-skin mooncake with champagne truffle & ganache from Raffles Hotel, all thanks to my big brother! Ahhhhhh.... It's no wonder why I'm putting on so much weight! But oh wells, I'm not complaining at all cos I know I'm a really blessed girl (:
On a side note, I really love how Will and I are just sitting at each corner of the room doing our own stuffs right now after our super awesome movie marathon. You gotta catch "We're the Millers" cos it's so funnyyyyy!!! We died and rolled from one corner to another. No joke, it's really THAT funny. Loving such simple days with you, huns. <3
Till then, xx!

Dinner @ Jamie Oliver's
I don't know if you feel the same way but.... As I grow older, I find it increasingly difficult to open up myself to new people or socialize in a big group of people. Somehow, that kinda makes it harder for me to make friends. No, I'm not talking about people whom just come and go. I'm talking about friends who come into your life and stay for a very long time, and even though you all don't meet or talk everyday but whenever you need someone for advice or just someone to listen to your troubles, yeap, you know they'll be there.
I don't know if you do this too but... I really enjoy counting my blessings whenever I'm alone, laying on my bed and looking out of the window. And I count myself really lucky to be able to find myself another two big brothers (Jaroson & Shawn) when I was working/stationed at a store for a couple of months. I do admit I'm actually a better girlfriend as compared to being a friend cos I devote most of my time to school, family and boyfriend already. So shame on me (as a friend), I always ended up postponing catch-up sessions over lunch/dinner with my friends.
So, as soon as my exams are over, I quickly did my part as a good friend cum little sister to arrange a date for a good dinner together with the bros and yes, we decided to treat ourselves to a yummy feast at the highly raved about Jamie Oliver's restaurant. I can still remember that I wasn't feeling too well that day and they ended up queuing and waiting for me for almost an hour and nope, they weren't even least bit angry. Thank you bros (:
The interior of Jamie Oliver's restaurant, pretty huge!
Time to order & we're kinda spoilt for choice!
This is Shawn & Jaroson for ya...
And here's a mandatory shot of us before tucking in! ;)
So we had....
Bruschetta with Tomatoes & Basil//
Rump Steak Salad//
The Angus steak itself was really good without the salad. We thought the taste of the different greens was a little too over-powering.
Brixham Bay Crab Risotto//
Always a fan of risotto and yeap, this didn't fail me cos we all liked it!
The fish & shellfish was too oily for our liking. I felt that I really made a wrong choice ordering this as my main cos we had such a hard time finishing this oily dish!
No doubt that this dish looks really good but honestly, it tasted really bad (yeah, looks are indeed very deceiving) cos I have no idea why was sausages even bitter and guess what? This plate of sausages (I know it doesn't look like sausages) was actually the most expensive dish amongst all that we've ordered, oh gawd. Not worth the money/calories at all, hmph! (I'm sorry I have no idea what's the exact name of this dish cos it was some signature-dish-for-the-day kinda thing)
I don't know about them but I'm definitely not coming back again (unless Will wants to queue and try it)... Although it was not as expensive as we thought it would be, it surely was VERY over-rated for me! Dear Jamier Oliver, I still have faith and believe that your culinary skills are so much better than this.
What's good dinner without desserts? So Max Brenner, here we go! To make it up for the average dinner we had!
And yay, chocolate fondue too! Chocolate overdose that evening :)
It was a really good catch-up with my two new-found brothers from another mother that evening & I'm glad they enjoyed it too! (Heh, I would like to think so.) Honestly, good friends are really hard to come by these days, especially when you grow older, so I'm really thankful for them. (:
Till then, xx!
I'm no angel, I'm just me
But I will love you endlessly.
