Travelogue: Hong Kong Photo Diary Part I
Holaaaaa~! How are you spending your New Years so far? I hope everything's been good for you cos it's been really awesome for me so far! No better way to kick start 2014 by doing something that I really, really love - Traveling - cos it makes me feel soooo good and that it's definitely gonna be a great year ahead. (Yesssssss I CAN FEEL IT ALREADY!!)
If you've been following my Instagram: @linlovesall, you'd have guessed that I was traveling around Hong Kong for the past week. I honestly didn't plan to go Hong Kong cos I'm not quite a city girl but Scoot was having a promotion during my exams period in late November/early december and as usual, I am forever wander-lusting whenever I have to bury my head in my books so yes, #YOLO mode: on and tadaaaahhh... The next thing I know is, I have already booked my tickets. Heh come on, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who does this yes? ;)
I am the biggest fan of Hong Kong dramas since I was a little girl so you've zero idea how excited I am to be able to travel to my drama land! Evidently, I was so excited that I started goofing around in the airport like a kid all over again... Heh.
If you're planning to travel by trains throughout your 3-4 days trip, please get this Airport Express Travel Pass. You will get to enjoy 2-ways Airport Express + unlimited MTR rides for 3 days (surprisingly, it was still working on the 4th day, lucky me!)
Spent the whole morning roaming around the streets of Hong Kong and I was just quite fascinated by everything... From their very old buildings to their taxis to the people on the streets, just everything. So fascinated that I actually walked from You Ma Tei all the way to Tsim Tsa Tsui (that's two MTR long!) despite having zero sleep the night before, wow.
By the way, does anyone knows what's the hype over Jenny's biscuits?!
THE QUEUE WAS HORRIFYING!! :O
You've no idea how happy when the clock strikes 2pm so that I can finally check in cos I was quite a walking zombie by then. Headed back to the hotel and crashed all the way till evening, ooops.
Truth is, I didn't buy any 3G SIM card for the trip cos I refused to let social media disrupt my trip.
I believe it's more important to live in the moment than to impress everyone else on social media. I mean, it's never too late to impress after the trip or when you're back in the hotel room with free WIFI yes? (:
You gotta try their beef brisket noodles! The soup was really good and the beef was really soft and tender, yumz! While the wantons in the wanton noodles tasted pretty much like healthier version of siew mai, I'm sure there's even better wanton noodles around! Total damage: Only 52hkd = $8.60! SO CHEAP!!
I personally prefer Ladies' Market (nearest MTR: Mong Kok) more thou.
I was conned into thinking that this was the famous Australian Dairy Cafe, boohoo. Tried their chocolate milk curd which tasted like solid melted ice-cream, super yummy! But it was quiteeeee expensive.... It costs 30hkd = 5sgd :/
I must say, Hong Kong is a really lively city. It was about 11pm but there are still sooo many people on the streets!
I wanted to join in the fun yet I refused to pay the money so wells, I had my own budget shoot instead...
#stupidthingsIdo #dontjudge #lol
I'm not too sure when will I be updating this space again... Hopefully, very soon. Cos I will be on a jet plane in exactly 12 hours' time. YES, AGAIN (: This is exactly why I enjoy working all year round cos at the end of the day, I know it's gonna be very rewarding. "Work hard, Travel Harder." Yeap, that's me.
I'm sorry if the post is too long, I just love every photo taken.
And I'm also trying my best to give my 5 cents worth of advice about traveling in Hong Kong... Really hope it helps!
In the meantime, follow me on Instagram: @linlovesall for more updates in squares ;)
Till then, xx!
I'm no angel, I'm just me
But I will love you endlessly.
