Photo Diary: Our Cycling Date
Tonight's one of those nights I just feel like not doing anything at all and reminisce carefree days like this... And looking at these photos just somehow make me feel very, very happy.
We don't need any extravagant or expensive dates for it to be a memorable one. I don't need to impress him with any make-up at all. Cos he's the sweetest weirdo who prefers my ugly eye bags anytime. Or probably he's used to seeing my bare face almost every single day since the day we knew one another, heh. (But wells, I cheated with concealer and mascara this time round cos I wanted to look good enough for the camera, heehee.) It's really such a blessing to have found someone who adores the super playful tomboyish kid in me and that I can be TOTALLY myself.
Thank you for everything, M. <3
I know this is such a random post but I guess I just needed a space to recharge myself emotionally during this hectic period. Some people choose to read, sleep, watch tv and I guess, here's my choice: Looking through happy photos, blogging about my personal thoughts - appreciating someone who's dear to me and looking forward to carefree days!
2 more weeks till the end of Summer Semester I...
We can do this, together.
Till then, xx!

Once-in-a-lifetime experience in Night Safari
Holaaaaaaa~ I'm so happy to be back here to share something really different yet fun and exciting with you! As some of you already know through my instagram: @linlovesall, I was really blessed and privileged to be able to spend an evening at Night Safari as a zookeeper! YES, ZOOKEEPER! How lucky (:
The moment I received news that I was gonna be a zookeeper in Night Safari for an evening, I was sooooo excited about it! Everyone knows that I really, really love animals and yes, any kind of animals. My boyfriend even thought I was crazy when he heard me talking to the fishes while I was snorkelling in Krabi, heh. I was so excited about it that I shared this piece of news with my best friends and the first thing they said was "I hope you'll be scooping shit." and I was like "Hahaha I don't mind!!!" Yes, that's how much I love animals!
And for now, I shall let the pictures do most of the talking!
Spotted this beautiful snake as soon as I arrived and I immediately ran towards it, AWW TOO CUTE(!!)
And here, the owl from Harry Potter (haha, just kidding) decided to join me for a selfie too!
As you can see, I REALLY CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT ANYMORE ^^
All 3 of us are in-charge of different trails on that day and I was in-charge of the East Lodge Trail.
So happy to be in the buggy ride around the East Lodge Trail cos most of the animals are in the free ranging zone! Sofiana (who’s from Gushcloud) and I honestly had such a great time reliving our childhood, bombarding the real zookeepers, Victor &Wan Quan with never-ending questions to satisfy the curious kids inside us!
Here's a fun fact about @linlovesall:
I'm forever waving at every animal as though I've bumped into my best friend coincidentally, lol.
And I seriously wonder, am I the only one who's always behaving this silly?
No doubt I waved at these Giraffes too and the Papa Giraffe immediately stopped eating, turned his back and walked towards Mama Giraffe... (Yes, their Baby Giraffe is somewhere behind the bushes.) I was like ehhh? Victor then shared with me that Giraffes are actually very shy by nature that's why they're kinda intimidated by the-very-excited-me who was waving and running towards them. Ahhh, I really didn't mean it. :/
Some fun-facts-of-the-day about the Giraffes:
Do you know that it takes A LOT of effort for Giraffes to get up after sitting down?
Do you know (too) that Giraffes only rest for a few minutes a day?
(Cos it's in their nature to stay alert at all times.)
Told ya (my friends) I'm secretly an animal whisperer.
And that's me and my buffalo having a conversation going on right there.
Hahahaha okay, I kid.
I bet the buffalo was thinking: What's this weirdo trying to do in my territory?
These Barbirusas were such lovelies to pose a picture for me.
Thank you, Barbirusas!
Here's another #funfactoftheday about the Babirusas in Night Safari:
Do you know the males and females Babirusas are separated?
(This is to prevent them from excessive mating/reproduction, haha ooops.)
Gotta love this majestic White Lion King!
He's the only male white lion in the whole of Night Safari. A King, indeed.
Tried to be as graceful as the Flamingos but... Failed Terribly.
These deer are all at attention, thinking if I'm gonna feed them some food....
I'm sorry to disappoint you deer, it's not feeding time for you yet but it's always a selfie-time! ;)
Wanna guess whose feeding time comes first?
That's me getting all garang to throw these leaves branches as far as possible for the.......
AND NAWWWW, THEY'RE TOOOOO CUTEEEEEEEEEE!!!
I told Sofi I was honestly so tempted to.....
SMACK HIS ASS. Just like how you'd smack/pat any toddlers' ass.
Victor heard me and said: "I think your hand's definitely gonna hurt." Haha oooops.
I noticed some deep cuts on one of the hippos and I asked what happened and if they're going to sew the wound up for it. He told me not to worry and shared with us that apart from the thickness of the skin, Hippopotamus actually have a thick layer of fat under the skin which obstruct more serious injuries during fights. Also, they have a special body mechanism which excrete a fluid that helps to heal their wounds. Felt a little relieved when he said that, phew.
As the night turns darker, it's time to prepare food for feeding time!
Here are some chicken, beef, pellets, cut fruits and....
"Hmmmmmmm.... Smells sooooo gooodddd~"
"I think I wanna have some hay too!!"
Haha honestly, they smell really good like tea leaves.
Here are more photos of the animals as I went around for feeding time when the night falls.....
Remember those deer I met in the afternoon?
As promised, I came back for them with their very-nice-smelling hay!
And yes, they're all waiting for me to leave so they can eat in peace.
Hahaha ooops! Thank you for your time, my dear deer.
Wanna guess who else did I feed?
Sloth bear... A kind of bear that eats his "biscuits" like a vacuum, super cute!
Red River Hogs.... This family definitely make the loudest snout! :x
And this beautiful Tiger that's staring right back at me... WOW.
I'm sorry there's no pictures/videos of me feeding them because no flashlight allowed. :(
Met the cute Wallaby too, hello!
Here's another fun-fact-of-the-day about the Wallaby/Kangaroo:
Do you know no one knows when the Wallabies or Kangaroos have given birth because at birth, they are as small as.... ^shown above? Wow. The baby joey will only be noticed when the zookeeper realized that the Mama Kangaroo is behaving weirdly or realize its head popping out of the pouch. How cute!
That's pretty much about my experience in Night Safari and I'm so thankful for this wonderful experience! To be learning so much from the experts and getting up close with almost all the animals, it's truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much, Night Safari Singapore & Gushcloud for this opportunity! I really, really enjoyed myself. And honestly, I even think that my pictures which were taken in the dark do not do this whole experience much justice at all... You really gotta experience it ON YOUR OWN.
Want a chance to experience what I experienced too?
